About me

My path to yoga

I'm Katrin Kirsch, I live in Viechtach, I'm married and the mum of a son. Around 15 years ago I fell in love with yoga – at first as a counterbalance to the back pain I'd built up over years of working with horses as a riding instructor and trainer. From the very first Hatha Yoga class I felt the deep sense of well-being it brought – physically and mentally.

In May 2021 I broke both wrists in a riding accident. During my recovery yoga became my anchor – especially the Vinyasa practice without weight on the hands.

I completed my Vinyasa yoga teacher training and, in October 2023, finished the Hatha Vinyasa Parampara training at a yoga school in Mainz. Since January 2023 I have been teaching under “RiverRoom Yoga” – Hatha Vinyasa and FeetUp Yoga.

About me

Why Vinyasa Yoga?

  1. Two paths, one breath

    Why Vinyasa Yoga?

In Vinyasa Yoga, breath and movement merge into a flowing whole. Through breath focus (Vinyasa Krama) and Ujjayi breathing, the asanas become a moving meditation – the mind grows quiet, the energy harmonises. It is exactly this interplay of strength, mindfulness and letting go that moved me from the very start.

  2. Why FeetUp Yoga?

    Why FeetUp Yoga?

The FeetUp stool makes inversions accessible – without any pressure on the neck and cervical spine. This opens a safe, playful way into inversions that shifts your perspective: away from rational thinking, towards feeling and intuition.

The breath bridges body and mind – a moving meditation that harmonises your energy and quiets the mind.
